Expenses
Who uses this: owner or manager.
Record your studio's costs to track spending and build the income statement (P&L).
Step by step
- Menu Financials → Expenses.
- Click New expense.
- Fill in:
- Unit
- Cost type — Fixed (rent, salaries) or Variable (supplies, commissions)
- Category — rent, utilities, supplies, payroll, marketing, etc.
- Description — what was paid
- Amount
- Date — when the expense occurred
- Optional: notes.
- Save.
Filter expenses
Use the filters at the top:
- By unit
- By type or category
- By period (start and end date)
- Search by description
Edit or delete
In the list, use Edit or Delete on each row. Confirm before removing — the action is permanent.
Relation to the P&L
Expenses entered here are included in the P&L report calculation, along with revenue from paid service orders.
Tip
Record expenses weekly to avoid a backlog at the end of the month. Rent and payroll are fixed costs; supplies and marketing are usually variable.
